Yunalis Zarai or simply Yuna started her unlikely musical career as a solo artist on Myspace. Her meteoric rise to a musical phenomenon is indicative of not only her perseverance, but the trend of young Malaysians taking to the new media to empower themselves in their own way. This singer-songwriter won best new artist, best local English song, best pop song, and best song at this year's Anugerah Industri Muzik (Malaysia's equivalent of the Grammys). Quite a haul, we think you'll agree.
