All over the world, public squares have become the rallying place for demonstrations, as seen in Cairo's Tahrir Square, Madrid's Puerta del Sol square and Tunis' Avenue Habib Bourguiba.

When you are clean & not guilty of any wrong doings, coverups, election riggings etc etc etc.,  whether it is Bersih or Kotor, wants to use Dataran Merdeka to voice out their concerns & or any other matters concerning the welfare of the Malaysian Rakyat, why do you need to block, barb-wired & put unnecesarry wastage of manpower to man the Dataran & make it  looks like a WAR ZONE?

If BERSIH 3 just wants a sit-in for 2 hours in the Dataran Merdeka, just let them go ahead instead of incurring ALL the unnecessary streets battles,  a police car ploughing through the demo who were NOT allowed to sit-in the Dataran Merdeka in the first place & got bashed up & then plough into the crowd on the sidewalk & then car got further bashing & damaged ,  wastage of  tear gas, coloured water, manpower etc etc(all these are expenses are  from the Rakyat's coffers).

It was the Authority(if there was any at all), who screwed-up the whole matter,  putting fears into the general public of unrest, disorders, etc, etc. especially in Kuala Lumpur.

What about Malacca, Johor Bahru, Muar etc etc? What happened? Did any police or police vehicles got bashed-up or damaged?

It is time the ruling political party especially the UMNO goons stop putting fears in to the multi racial  Malaysian Rakyats & stop ALL their crooked, corrupted & any form of  rigging in  the coming GE. Is there the need to clean-up the latest addition of new voters - are they truly Malaysian or just  converted from the dumps? The recent accusation of mass issuance of new

ICs to foreigners throughout the whole of West & East Malaysia,  what has been done to provide proof that there was no such evil motives being done during the mass registration of foreign workers?

Always remember, People can be fooled once, twice BUT not  thrice!

So BARISAN, if you want to stay relevant & honest, it time to change for the better.

There were many ill informed writers who due to their lack of courage started to write nonsensical

commends. I am a 66 years old man who took the trouble to see for myself the real situation in such

rally. Firstly, there is no racial division. Younger adults from all races offer their seats to senior citizens like me. I am deeply touched by this gesture.

Secondly, there was orderliness. The atmosphere was one that of harmony and cordiality. To Mr or Miss world watching, what riot are you talking about? Sad to say that you must have been misinformed.

Thirdly, Mr/Miss care 173, please do not assume to many things. Be there to witness for yourself before you write something out of your imagination. People like us who attended the rally are not like the ones paid by the ruling coalition to create chaos, but to prove a point that we are not blinded by the type of propaganda as dished out the government controlled media.

Rubbish was never thrown all over the place. There were some but were soon picked up by a group of Lynas supporters. They carried big plastic bags doing their parts to keep the place clean.

I truly admire them, because by their actions, people responsed by not throwing or just put their empty bottles into such bags.

Lastly, eateries and roadside vendors seemed to be very happy with our presence, because it was a roaring bussiness for them. And despite the crowd gathering around them, they were able to serve us with a smile.

My impression of such an event is that of an awakening for the Malaysian people to realise that we are all loveable people, people who accept one another of different races, people who truly care for one another, and not the type of bull sh.. as dished by the the so-called ruling bumiputra.

I am 60 and I was there too...i agree 100% with nosey....it was really bersih....so how did this cop beating incident happen? I did not see anything....in which part did it happen? ...serves them right..who asked them not to allow the citizens to use their own Merdeka square? If they had allowed then all can see what was going on...now you talk of an incident that thousands who were there did not see...and I just believe it was a set up to help the people who pass negative comments about Bersih to continue to be stupid and naive.

Everything has a price. Dun be so simple minded that things drop from the sky. Imagine you have a government who is corrupt to the core, arragant and not transparent in its dealings with the rakyat, what are you going to do?  Just grumble and swear at home !  Change will not come your way if you just do that because this government is already insensitive to the feelings of the people. Get out of the comfort zone and protest and this democracy at work all over the free world. Sad to read that some are so  selfish after all the education !

gbear13 you are nothing but just another !diot that is narrow minded and only looking at our present situation. It is either that you are blind or so stupid to not realize that our current goverment is filthy corrupted and is hindering the progress of our country, as well as the wellfare of the citizens of Malaysia. You are not looking ahead to even imagine how much more our country can advance in all aspects including technology, citizen wellfare and infrastructure. By the way, the protestors are only doing their part in voicing out their feelings and only got violent when the PDRM drew first blood. In fact i salute the protestors for having the guts to protest for the greater good of all, so, if you don't have the balls to do so, atleast shut your f*^&*ing mouth when others are doing you and many more a favour instead of critisizing them, sitting in your chair, whinning about how its bad for business and tourist, look ahead 10 yrs lah for f^&*k sake...

I have never seen a true Malaysian spirit like that shown in this BERSIH 3 rally.  Irrespective of race and religion, all the people are moving towards the same course.  This is really a "Hari ini dalam Sejarah"!  Malaysians, stay united and keep it up!

all for 1 Msia...just go into Bersih news - the latest - listen and learn - then come back and write comments. Listen to the debate between (govt) Khairi and Ambiga..listen and learn. The gov has delayed in implementing the demands of the rakyat , which they claim they accept. Election is around the corner ...no implementation. So you want an election that is a blatant fraud? I guess you do...there a lot like you who love these cheating ways becasuse it benefits them. Do you know ah longs have cheerfully claimed they can do anything because they have 'connections' and Indons (not maids) walk around freely  because they claim they have 'connections' ? Gangsters are training in the gym and enjoying life with some Indon women hanging around them cos they are fed by and claim they have 'connections' ?  Do you know what is really happening in the Msia you are 4? They all vulgarly say " M'sia boleh". Now they say a cop got bashed during bersih march...I am wondering if it is a decent Bersih protester or these hired gangsters pretending to be marchers. Or an Indon who just recieved his citizenship? Then they use this excuse to stop citizens protests in future. Who are the gangsters who beat up the students at M square? The students claim they called out to the police for help...they did not come to their aid ...who are these gangsters...their faces are clear on the student's video..have they been arrested?

Bersih 3.0, the only day when Malays, Chinese, Indians and lain-lain get together for a peaceful protest as Malaysians to protest against the Gomen for a clean and fair  GE-13 elections.
If and when Pakatan Rakyat takes over Putrajaya, this day 4.28 should be celebrated on a national scale.

@Yang Ambil Berat: FYI, they are covering their faces because it is used to protect their breathing when the ruthless police fire tear gas out of "sesuka hati". Understand, before you call people coward and stupid. Why did you not query of why the police shot the tear gas?

If you were so "berani kerana benar", don't hide behind that pseudonym.

at the same time i know all politics can play dirty...whatever the party except for Dr.Jeyakumar's party ...he is an angel loved by God.. a rare being in the human species. Bersih is not a political party ...you have to learn the difference. Bersih stands for bersih. If the demands for election are met, at least we can start clean. whoever comes in and is not clean, Bersih can clean them up. So we need a Bersih...and look at the members -  they are genuine citizens who have dared the govt....I salute each and every one of them, especially my poet. You should too, if you love this land.

I am not pro opposition or anti government, I just want a clean, fair and free electoral system. Why not decide by ballot box you say? This is because the ballot box is not free, fair or clean enough. So how can I vote for the suitable candidate with this defective system, (BN or opposition)? Bersih 3.0 is not an action to overthrow the government, because bersih is not an army, for if bersih planned to overthrow the government and everyone present that day brought a weapon/gun, we will have a civil war in Malaysian right now.

THIS IS NOT ABOUT WHICH PARTY SHOULD WE VOTE FOR, THIS IS ABOUT BASIC RIGHT TO VOTE AS A MALAYSIAN CITIZEN.

The supporters for BERSIH is enormous. So proud to see rakyat who wants to fight for righteousness and life. Never seen so big number for gathering. Even Merdeka day celebration is far from it. My heart swells......

But what if the election results shows "dirty" what can the rakyat do?????? The support for BERSIH is obvious and yet......

Even Najib can judge BERSIH guilty for disrupting the country's peace. Can imagine whatelse he can do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What happen to justice and human rights?

I've been working abroad ever since, I was away from Malaysia for years. But when only recently I get to read the news on MSN, I was surprised by all this demonstration.
Not that I against it, but it's good to see that Malaysia people have improved, they know their rights, they stand for it, they are smart, though some people here would say in an "uncivilized way" but they are "mind-ly civilized" than people who's narrow minded and being use by the government whom accept their money for taxes going into other's pocket. Well..BERSIH! Keep it up!
For people who complain about BERSIH, you're the one who's KOTOR. It is because you're too comfortable in your safe zone or whatever. Or maybe you took advantage on other people too. ;)

As a Malaysian, I don't care who is right or who is wrong, I only pray and hope that our future and our future generations will have a good n better future, and peacefully, continue living in Malaysia.
I believe we all just want to be faithful to Malaysia and, in return, hope that all the  Malaysian leaders will also be honest n faithful in all their responsibilities .........

My admiration for all those young people who were there today...in the hot afternoon with a smile. you are the brave rakyat.....dont let any fool tell you otherwise fot they have never tasted courage as you have and will never know what it is. They claim to be rakyat but have no love for this country or how can they let her die in corruption....they are so selfish..as long as they can rob her they are happy.

i was there today - were you? Malaysians should get educated on politics and their part in it. We have slept on the matter long enough...wake up and see reality...a peaceful protest by the rakyat was not allowed at the dataran...reason...none - just arrogance and pride of the ruling partry. Does it make them feel good that they dashed the hopes for voice of the people...yes...the government is so backward in this matter that they enjoy this dictating to the citizens . How can they know what is good when they have disengaged from the reality of the rakyat...their poverty, anxiety and hopelessness because of it.  They have been too rich for too long....thye have forgoten the taste of hunger...

Ok, democracy doesn't work in Public Riots, but we want it to be in peace, if there is freedom given equally to all public and political party to voice out.
Where is DEMOCRACY now, ? If you are clean just be brave and allow them to voice out their concerns.

For those of you who like embarass yourself . Please read my past comments before posting something negative about Bersih and made yourself look more ridiculous. There is already enough MSM (Malaysia) spin today. Why can't many Malaysians made comments base on fact instead of using warp logic? Then again, it is your right to post silly comments.
@ ALL 4 1 Msia
Because I am Malaysian I am fighting for our right. Nothing about grateful or ungrateful.
What leaders losing grip? Name one Bersih leader who actually hold a post as MP, state assemblymen etc? Your comments are not base on facts at all. where you get the idea they are not registered voters? you have prove? And your comments just show how little you know about Bersih. Bersih is for electoral reforms so of course takes place before elction. not after election. What is the use rallying for an election that is already past. FYI BErsih took place in 2007 also, before Election. Why only take pot shots at 2 and 3? because it suits your logic?
Which leader are  you referring to as dirty? Anwar? He is not even part of Bersih. Just a politcal party leader and the court case is still going on. I didn't know that some one is guilty until proven innocent. If that is the case, then you are a drug dealer, flasher, bank robber, a terrorist who plots to bomb the parliament etc. Not so nice when it is the other way round right? And since you can't prove me wrong, then you must be all the above. You can say Anwar hijack the movement but there is no rule that say if you are a member of politics you cannot march there. Did Bersih say other political party cannot join? Did they?
As far as i know those popular people/ leaders in Bersih are very much cleaner than the members of Political party that did not join. To name a few: Ambiga, Haris Ibrahim, Dato A Samad Said,... etc
