Indian Ocean earthquakes: MSN Malaysia readers react
Following the breaking news and our coverage of the 8.6 and 8.2 magnitude Indian Ocean earthquakes which struck Wednesday, MSN Malaysia readers left their thoughts and comments on the tragedy.
These were the experiences of readers from all over Malaysia. Comments were edited for clarity.
steven kong peng: And here in Kangar, Perlis, we felt some vibrations at about 4.30p.m. at the flats in Kp. Bakar and around the town in Kangar.
Durga devi: I was watching a movie with my friends at a theatre... suddenly the chairs were shaking... almost blanked out, didn't know what to do... luckily the guide asked us to get out... this was really shocking... the moment was really ridiculous... hopefully everyone is good out there... just pray hard to God..
penanngguy: We felt the second tremor at about 6.30pm... but the 1st one was terribly shakey.
Anand Chaubey: Felt this for 3 minutes in Seagate - Suntech office, Penang. I thought my colleague was pulling my chair, then I realised everyone was standing and looking outside. It's good no one was hurt anywhere. I got this experience first time on 16 Floor office... and a friend of mine felt this from the 30th floor. Hope I never have this again....
yu yu: Hi, my mum just called me from Pangkor Island that she very scared then only I know got earthquake happened in Indonesia again. Actually she felt the tremors from yesterday night, she felt dizzy & can't sleep for the whole night. Furthermore, this afternoon felt the tremors for few minutes when she sitting on a chair. Hopefully no tsunami happen in everywhere.
LLL 2099: 11.04.2012 (Wednesday) - about 4.45pm, we also felt the tremor (lasted for about 3 to 4 minutes) at the surrounding of Taman Bahagia [behind a school] in Seberang Perak, Alor Setar, Kedah.
