Local NGO president wants you to 'Listen'

Kuala Lumpur, January 15 - As some already know, the organization known as Suara Wanita 1 Malaysia (SW1M) recently commented on the internet regarding the recent debate that happened between the NGO’s president Sharifah Zohra Jabeen against a brave vocal university student that has gone viral.
This vocal upheaval happened at the recent University Utara Malaysia (UUM) Student forum. The UUM undergraduate, Bawani K.S was addressing the floor when Sharifah Zohra Jabeen hijacked the microphone and began verbally abusing her. The organization which claims to be a non-government, nonprofit body remains firm on their president’s actions in the public forum last month. Bawani now labeled as ‘Little Ambiga’ on the organization’s Facebook page as a reference of lawyer and Bersih co-chair Datuk Ambiga Sreenevasan, which to many is a truly rude gesture. Other disturbing comments can be seen on the SW1M’s Facebook page. Both SW1M and Sharifah Zohra Jabeen have adopted a rather cold attitude regarding the incident.
The innocent video on Youtube begins with the students swearing an oath in our national language before closing in to Bawani who bravely took to the microphone to speak her mind regarding the court ruling on the Bersih rallies, and asked why Malaysia could not provide free education like other countries. Bawani began to mention nations including Cuba, Argentina and a few others before being interrupted by the emcee of the forum, Sharifah telling her to ‘Listen!’ a total of eleven times before grabbing the microphone from Bawani.
Sharifah Zohra Jabeen said, “Number one, when this is our programme, we allow you to speak,” and followed with, “Number two, when I speak, you listen.” She later hushed another student who tried to speak out before saying “Let me speak” before asking the audience “Students in the hall, 2,300 students everywhere. Did I give her respect? Did I give her respect? I came up to her, shook hands with her and gave her respect as another woman. Do you think I need to answer her question with this attitude?”
What began as an innocent student forum became a nightmare, Sharifah began to speak her mind regarding who has issues and began to use animals as example. Cats, Dogs and Sharks became ammunition for her before labeling Datuk Ambiga as an ‘anarchist’ and continued to belittle the student for addressing the need for free education and even commented “if you equate Malaysia to other countries, what are you doing in Malaysia?”
The Umno Youth chief and a Barisan Nasional deputy minister tried to prevent more damage of the situation. Any young student would be mortified to be in this position, but it did not end there, Sharifah added “Go to Cuba, go to Argentina, go to Libya, go everywhere. Because all the students in this hall are happy with whatever the government does for them,” she said, before cynically saying to Bawani who was walking away “a very least of pendidikan [education]”.
A truly shocking event from what a normal student would experience. Many undergraduates in local universities have become more vocal regarding the government’s actions since the current administration’s decision to loosen the law for students to participate in politics.

it is a brainwashing event. no doubt
When things got out of hand the way they wanted it, Sharifah resort to attacks on poor Biwani to show her authority and take control back the hard way
Hello Sharifah
As the public has mentioned countless of times, not all of us are fortunate to seek fortune and a better life elsewhere. Ministers who are rich can opt to migrate or send their children for education elsewhere but not us the common people. How irresponsible you are in telling us to get out?
Right now, you are far below the animals you mentioned in your so-called 'berpendidikan" speech
As for all the undergraduates there, shame on you for not standing on Ms Biwani side, and further enflamed the situation by your jeers
Ms Biwani, I admire your speech. I wish you godspeed in whatever things you do in the future. You can't change some who is on gov's payroll but you can inspire others. Good luck!
What a joke she is!! Looks like she doesn't have an answer for the question. Typical of Umno putras & putris who get everything FOC; and they are arrogant enough to ask the other citizens of Malaysia (who have equal rights as they are but are treated as 3rd. class citizens) to leave the country. God is watching...
When your have no answer to the question raised, confused them..
that's what cik pah did. She fit to be a zoologist since she know too much about animals problem rather than human's
BTW, if you cant accept the fact cik pah, what are you doing in malaysia?
phewww, i do not know sharks have so much problems...
and the bosses on top the stage are there overseeing her performance as of then
so she need to do something and with a bang quick, hence the personal attack on Ms Biwani
I don't think is Presendent of Suara Wanita 1Malaysia. Just Suara BN in their brainwashing ceremony there
And they say you should not bring politic into education premises, but that is what they are doing. This is bolehland, where they can, and we can't LOL
Dearest Bawani, you are a brave Malaysian Girl, thumbs up for you! Please continue to voice up whenever you feel injustice in our nation, you are doing the right thing on behalf for many other
Malaysians!!!
For other Dear Students who show your 'sokong" when Sharifah seeks support voice from you, just think back yourself, are you mature enough to be a "berpendidikan" University Student!Dont simply
follow others blindly,Malaysia needs you all to revamp the whole nation!
Sharifah sounds like she needs help, big time. i know of some good psychiatrist who might be able to help her distorted brain. As far as I know it is the government that always compares us with many other countries when it suits them so why can't we. As far as I kow our education minister assigned people 'oveseas' to 'copy' what is implemented there and came up with KSSR system, which nobaody knows how it works not even the teachers.
If being rude, disrespecful and behaving like an uncivilised person is what 1 Malaysia is all about, all the best to them in the coming future..
“So, I wish to affirm that she is no longer with KIMMA. Whatever she has done and said now does not involve us or our stand,” said Syed Ibrahim, not specifying whether she was kicked out of the party or had resigned.
Syed Ibrahim confessed to knowing of Sharifah Zohra’s vocal and aggressive behaviour when she was in KIMMA and of receiving many negative reports about her.
“Yes, we do know about her (Sharifah Zohra’s) wild and aggressive behaviour and it is hard to control her,” he added.
And this the type of person became the president of SW1M, disgrace disgrace...
